RPLL Families,
Hope everyone had a great spring break. Batteries recharged. Maybe some sun.
Hopefully a little baseball mixed in there somewhere.
We're back and at the midpoint of the season!
The second half kicked off yesterday, and there's a lot coming between now and Closing Day on May 30th.
This issue gets you caught up on the stuff you need to know heading into the stretch run.
There's also a preview at the end of something a little different we're publishing later this week — a behind-the-scenes look at the Snack Shack that we think you'll enjoy.
See you at the fields,
Jaime Solis

🌟 All-Star Registration:
Deadline Is Wednesday
All-Star registration is open now at rpll.org and the deadline is Wednesday, April 15.
If your player is interested in being considered for an All-Star team this summer, this is the sign-up window.
Who can register: Players League Age 8–14 who played in Minors or above this Spring 2026 season.
Where to register:
Log into your account at rpll.org.
Look for the All-Star registration link near your player's name.
Register based on your player's league age use the Little League age chart if you're unsure.
Register for one team only.
Late sign-ups will not be accepted.
FINAL Paperwork verification is Monday, 4/20.
All registered players must attend an in-person document check:
Monday, April 20 · 6:00–6:30 PM Canyonside Park — Near the Snack Bar (Field 2)
What to bring:
Original certified birth certificate
A copy of the birth certificate (RPLL will keep this)
Three proofs of residency (one from each group) — or a School Enrollment Form
Completed Tournament Player Verification Form (https://www.littleleague.org/downloads/tournament-player-verification/)
Signed 2026 All-Star Contract (parent and player)
Even if you submitted documents during spring registration, District 32 requires a separate All-Star verification. A District representative will be present tonight.
Returning All-Star players: If your player has a verified packet on file from a previous season, email [email protected] to confirm.
If we have it, you only need the signed 2026 All-Star Contract.
Note: this does not apply to previous Big Stars or Little Stars participants — those programs don't require district-verified paperwork, so we would not have documents on file.
If documents are missing tonight, we may not be able to complete verification. Please come prepared.
The fee: $185 for players selected to an All-Star team. This covers uniforms, tournament fees, and equipment.
We don't want financial hardship to limit any player's opportunity. If needed, please reach out privately and confidentially — we're here to help.
Questions? Email [email protected].
🔎 How All-Star Selection Works
For families new to the postseason, or families who've just never had it explained clearly, here's how the process works once registration closes.
All-Star teams are built through a 3 step process:
Player vote. Players in each division vote for peers they believe represent the best of their division; skill, attitude, sportsmanship, leadership. The top 3 vote-getters are automatically selected.
Manager vote. Division managers meet to discuss and vote on additional players through a blind ballot process. The top selections are added to the roster.
All-Star manager selection. The approved All-Star manager for each team selects the remaining players to complete a roster of at least 12.
Players are evaluated on more than just ability. Coachability, commitment, attendance, and how they represent RPLL all factor in.
Players can only be selected to one All-Star team. Final team placement may differ from the division you registered under — that's normal and based on age eligibility and team composition.
What about younger players?
Two additional postseason programs work differently from All-Stars:
Little Stars (League Age 7–8 / 8U team): A local tournament over Father's Day weekend. Players are selected by manager nomination — no registration or paperwork required. Fee: $115.
Big Stars (League Age 9U): The Summer Classic tournament hosted by Scripps Ranch Little League, also Father's Day weekend. Same nomination-based process — no registration or paperwork required. Fee: $140.
For both Little Stars and Big Stars programs, there is nothing families need to do right now. Managers will handle nominations directly.
All-Division Teams: For players not selected to an All-Star team but who have demonstrated skills and attitudes consistent with earning postseason baseball, All-Division teams offer practices, scrimmages, and games against other local leagues.
You can indicate interest during All-Star registration. Fee: $90.
More details on all postseason programs will follow as dates are confirmed.
📋 Mid-Season Check-In:
Tell Us How It's Going
We're halfway through the season, and we want to hear from you.
We're sending out a short mid-season survey to every RPLL family.
How's the experience going? What's working? What could be better?
Your responses are confidential, and they help us make adjustments while there's still time to act on them.
A few minutes of your time. We'd appreciate every single response.
📅 Coming Up:
Two Events Taking Shape
A couple things we're putting together for the second half of the season:
Bracket Reveal Night: Thursday, May 1
Playoffs are coming for Minor B and above. We're planning an event to reveal the playoff brackets live.
More details on the format and location coming soon, but put the date on the calendar.
RPLL Community Day: Lake Elsinore Storm Game — Sunday, May 17
Join us to celebrate “Youth Sports Day” with The Storm!
We've reserved 200 seats for RPLL families at the Lake Elsinore Storm (the Padres' Single-A affiliate) on Sunday, May 17 at 2:05 PM vs. the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
Tickets are $20 each and include
Lot C parking
$5 food and beverage voucher
Pregame “Youth Sports Day” parade access
Voucher to a future Storm game
A portion of every ticket sold comes back to RPLL.
Pregame Parade: All Youth Sports ticket-holders enter through the player parking gates in Lot A. Parade lineup begins at 11:00 AM, and check-in ends at 12:15 PM.
If you'd prefer not to walk in the parade, you can enter the stadium through the same Lot A entrance and head to your seats when gates open.
Your $5 voucher and future game voucher will be handed out at entry.
Parking: Tell the attendant you're with Rancho Peñasquitos Little League at the Lot C entrance to avoid the parking fee.
Get your tickets here: https://www.gofevo.com/event/RPLL
We're also exploring a coach bus option:
Depart San Diego around 11:00 AM, back by 7:30 PM
Approximately $35 per person.
If there's enough interest, we'll make it happen. Just hit reply to this email and let us know you’re into it.
🍔 Coming This Week:
Behind the Scenes at the Snack Shack
Later this week, we're publishing something a little different.
We're taking you inside the Snack Shack! Learn how the operation actually runs on game day, what it takes to have a cheeseburger ready quickly when lots of families hit the window, and why the people behind that counter are doing something more meaningful than they probably realize.
If you've ever wondered what's happening on the other side of that window, that issue is for you.
In the meantime, we're moving through the season and our volunteer pool for snack bar shifts is thin.
If you haven't scheduled your volunteer shift yet, now is the time.
A shift manager who knows exactly what they're doing will support you. No experience required.
👉 Sign up for your snack bar shift here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040945A8A92DA0FC1-62173227-snack#/

❤️ In Closing
Midpoints are a good time to look up.
Half a season of games played. Kids who are better at this than they were in February. Families who know each other's names now because they've been watching games together for two months.
The season will be over before you know it, and all of this has an expiration date we don't think about until it's here.
So thank you for being a part of RPLL and reading this. And the next time you're at the field, take a second before you check the score or look at your phone to just watch the kids play.
See you at the fields.
